Each season Trisha seeks out both innovative and classic fabrics, which, when blended together, give BHANA a modern relevance while retaining a timeless feel. Accordingly, Trisha also employs a variety of traditional manufacturers and suppliers, who lend their superb workmanship and time-honoured techniques to the collection.

M.H. Bhana was a man full of integrity, class and heart who acted as a beacon of inspiration to the South Asian community in South Africa over half a century ago. It is through his legacy that BHANA Design Company celebrates old world tailored designs that have an air of confidence, tradition and elegance weaved into the modern representation of social style. Translated as “divine will and pleasure” BHANA continues to strive to create luxurious designs that reflect the confidence of men and women who take pride and delight in their clothing.
Affectionately hailed as “The Bird”, the humming bird logo is a reflection of living. Small, vibrant, and fast like lightning, the hummingbird is one of the most breathtaking creatures on Earth. They hold an aura of mysticism as the Heliconia plant can be pollinated only by a hummingbird with a special beak that fits the flower perfectly. This relationship between the adaptation of flower and bird reflects the mystery and simplicity of living and experiencing the smaller luxuries in a sometimes complicated world. It is a manifestation of the balance needed to achieve our destiny. It is this essence of mystery and simplicity in relationship that testifies “The Bird” as the BHANA logo.
