BHANA has a special relationship with its partners and could not be successful without them.  Some are involved in the creative process of pattern drafting, cutting and sewing, coming from an era of old world clothing manufacturing where tailoring and stitching were all done by hand.  Other partners help create the perfect accent to the clothing display at fashion shows, shoots and anywhere BHANA displays itself.  As an integral part of the BHANA Human Collective, BHANA’s partners provide an innovative collaboration that lends itself to BHANA’s mission of creating and displaying clothing that represent the history, confidence, authenticity and true spirit of the individual who adorns the classic feel of custom tailored apparel.

BHANA is continually growing its partnerships, so look out below for  new additions to our collective!

Jeanette Schwarz (MUA)

Jeanette spent her early 20’s travelling alone extensively throughout South East Asia, South America and Europe.  Throughout her travels she was inspired by the festivals, colours, fabric and texture of Thailand, and the emergence of art out of a devastating war in Bosnia.  She has always seen people in the light of their beautiful parts, and has a fantastic knack of picking out a strong feature in anyone.  It was out of these experiences and talent that led Jeanette to Vancouver in 2004 to attend Blanche McDonald, and received her Make-Up Artistry Diploma in 2005.  Her experience primarily began in the realm of the fashion world, but has since led to opportunities in leading Makeup Workshops, and currently as the Beauty Editor for String Magazine.  She fuels her passion by working alongside local designers and continues to be part of the ever-growing world of creative arts.  Through her experiences as the Beauty Editor for String Magazine, she is able to seek out and research custom select brands that she wants to promote, especially with an increasingly educated customer base.

Her interest is to present a new side of makeup that is organic, and has started the Toxin-free beauty blog (whatismakeup.com) to help educate and answer questions for her readers.  Additionally, she has started Schwarz and Mann with colleague Jamie Mann to provide a “Be Your Own Icon” photo shoot that includes a complete makeover and photo spread to anyone and everyone, from individual clients to corporate events and profile photos.  In the future, Jeanette wants to continue to work with the eco-conscious community; make-up artists, designers, and make up creators in the fashion realm.  She is always extending and building her team to include individuals that she can work closely with that share similar ethics, morals and the importance of high quality of work that she attests to.  So what is the most important component of her work? “The people aspect of my work the biggest reward; being in a personal capacity with others allows me to combine my profound love for humanity in general and my desire to beautify.  After all, when looking good leads to feeling good leads to doing good, everyone wins.”
